What does the future hold for HR?

What does the future hold for HR? An interesting question, which challenges us to think differently and sparks fresh insight. HR remains too reactive, process driven, and lacking in commercial focus. We have not addressed the low level of engagement, productivity and toxicity that remains in too many organisations. HR needs to change but what can be done differently? Our vision is that HR should serve as the conscience of the organisation, building human-centred culture and capability. By building psychologically safe working environments fit for human beings we’ll create the conditions to win in the marketplace. HR should be helping to build resilient organisations that can thrive in uncertain times, connecting stakeholders together. Not from a compliance perspective but by improving the employee experience and culture. When people feel they belong, and are cared for we create ripples beyond the organization. We can start to change communities. This is the broader scope of our work if we think differently. It is HR’s time to step up, putting the human back at the heart of HR and humanising our workplaces. Strong humanistic values in balance with profit. A new landscape for HR, which is needed in the modern world.
